It was whilst attending Carrickfergus Central Primary School that I began playing the cornet at eight years of age.

I attended lessons in the learners' class every Tuesday evening receiving tuition from Mr Des Graham, before joining the senior band, four years later.

During my studies at Carrickfergus College and subsequent 'A' level course at Belfast Royal Academy, I secured a place at The City of Belfast School of Music, where I studied for six years.

Following this, I progressed to Stranmillis Teacher Training College where I graduated with my Bachelor of Education Honours Degree, alongside my LTCL Diploma on cornet.

I currently work as a Peripatetic Brass Tutor and assist with the Junior Band, every Saturday morning.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching music and being involved in the band.
